What do I do if my Internet stops working?

The first step is always to unplug your Power-of-Ethernet (POE) adapter, and then plug it back in. This will reset all of your network equipment. If you’ve already done this, and the issue persists, please contact us at (805) 500-8081.

What does my network equipment look like?

Most customers have 3 pieces of network equipment. The POE Adapter, which is a small black or white box, about the size of a deck of cards, with a big “U” shape on it. Also, most customers have a Wireless Access Point (WAP) which is used to connect to the Wi-Fi, if you received yours from Advantage WISP that looks like either a small white box, or a flat white dish. Lastly, there’s the radio, usually that’s on your roof, you won’t be required to adjust that at all.

How can I get Wi-Fi to reach throughout my house?

We will provide you with a Wireless Access Point when we install your internet service, however, if your property is particularly spacious, or has features which inhibit Wi-Fi, we can help. For details on your specific situation, please contact us at (805) 500-8081

Can I increase my speeds after installation?

What is a Static IP?

A computer on the Internet can have a static IP address, which means it stays the same over time, or a dynamic IP address, which means the address can change over time. Most people only need one if they’d like to log into their PC remotely.
